Our Mission

Our mission is to provide wholesome, responsibly sourced food to you and your family, safe products for the home, and to be a vibrant part of the downtown area and our larger Spokane Community. With equal respect for consumers, producers, and the environment, we strive to offer the highest quality with the smallest footprint while growing the strength of the local food system.

Our Story

Main Market Cooperative opened as a full-service grocery and deli in 2010 at the corner of Main and Browne with 700 member-owners. In 13 years, we have grown our business along with our fun downtown neighborhood and our membership is 9,000 strong and counting. That's 9,000 Spokane area households owning and operating a business democratically and for the benefit of Spokane's people, environment, and robust local food system.

A Full-Service Grocery Store, Bakery, and Deli

We are a full-service grocery store with a focus on high quality and local foods. Our produce section features local in-season, and our bulk department offers a large selection of teas, spices, grains, dried fruit, and snacks so you can get as little or as much as you like. We offer an impressive selection of refrigerated dairy, including local and raw, and the largest selection of local eggs you'll find in Spokane. We carry a variety of grocery items with a quality ingredient focus - from chips to pet food to baking powder to toilet paper.

Our deli serves up a great breakfast, lunch or dinner that you can enjoy here in our 30 seat café or outside on our patio during good weather. We also have to-go containers to take anything along with you for later. Our deli features a large salad bar, a breakfast and lunch hot bar, 4 daily made from scratch soups, a full service burrito bar, a grab and go for quick take away meals/snacks, a large specialty cheese case, a bakery case and table for single or multiple serving goodies, and a huge deli with cold entrees, panini, and flatbreads for grilling or warming up.

We believe the very best and most transparent food is local food. Each month we feature farmers we support whose products are truly in our prepared foods and on our shelves.
